Slot Overview: Mega Moolah in the Jungle

Developer Microgaming has delegated design work to a number of other companies in order to increase the number of games compatible with the popular Mega Moolah network. This time around, a small independent studio known as Aurum Signature Studios has been tasked with updating the classic.  The age of the original Mega Moolah is starting to show. There has been a significant graphics upgrade with the relaunch, Jungle Mega Moolah. The animal symbols are intriguing since they are more realistic than previously while yet maintaining a cartoony aspect that gives them character and a connection to the original.

The game retains the standard 5-reel, 25-payline layout, but the previously dry savannah landscape has been replaced by a dense rainforest. Microgaming has essentially removed music from the game’s foundation and replaced it with ambient jungle noises. But if you make it to the bonus rounds, the band really starts to pick up the pace.

Any player, on any platform, can try their luck with wagers ranging from 0.25 p/c to $/€6.25 per spin. Gambling on Jungle Mega Moolah calls for a modicum of extra planning. In addition to managing your finances, you should know that the odds of spinning the Jackpot Wheel increase in proportion to the size of your wager. The game maintains its medium volatility, with an RTP of 88.12% and a jackpot contribution of 5.30 percent.

Even though the Mega Jackpot is why most people play Jungle Mega Moolah, let’s take a peek at the normal line winnings anyhow. This occurs when three or more identical symbols appear in a row, starting with the low-paying 10-A royals and progressing to the high-paying frogs, lemurs, leopards, bears, and the game’s logo. Five of a kind rewards range from 10x to 30x the initial wager when played from the premium lot. The wild symbol’s payout of 600x the wager for five on a payline dwarfs that of the other symbols. The wild symbol not only has the highest payout but also acts as a substitute for the other pay symbols.

Playing the Slot Game, “Jungle Mega Moolah”

Nothing we mention here will surprise you if you’ve ever played the original Mega Moolah. In addition to the massive jackpot, players may also take advantage of a round of free spins to rack up some smaller winnings along the way. If you get three or more scatters, you’ll trigger 15 free games. Seeing 2, 3, 4, or 5 scatters not only triggers the bonus game, but also awards a consolation reward of 2, 3, 20, or 100 times the wager. There are two main guidelines that govern bonus spins, one of which is beneficial. First, all prizes acquired during free spins have their value increased by a factor of 3. Second, free spins cannot result in jackpot wins.

Since the Jackpot Wheel can only be activated by paying for a spin, this makes the original game much more appealing. On occasion, the game will switch to a new screen and show a 20-slot reward wheel. Mini, Minor, Major, and the Mega (with its single red section) are the four available options. The next step, in principle at least, is to spin the wheel and choose whichever option comes up. The progressive jackpots are worth millions of Euros and continue to rise as players add their money to the pot.

Slot Review: Mega Moolah in the Jungle

It appears that while creating Jungle Mega Moolah, Microgaming kept to the formula. From its statistics to its features, it is virtually identical to the original. The fresh herd of animals and the wetter setting are the most noticeable changes, with the better definition visuals. The main attraction, the enormous pile of credits, remains as attractive as ever, which is excellent news for most jackpot chasers.

Even if they did the bare minimum, Microgaming is tough to criticize. They have had great success with the Mega Moolah system for over a decade. But, really, what’s the purpose in starting over? While the production values have been improved, some of the rougher allure of yesteryear has been lost. But hey, what matters here is winning one of the million Euro prizes; everything else is just gravy. Even though there have been many other games added to the Mega Moolah network, the original (and by extension, Jungle Mega Moolah) still features one of the best bonus games associated to it.

So, should you follow your dreams on this planet or the original? Choose the older one for its comic shenanigans or the newer one for its more polished jungle setting. Since the potential for winning is the same on each, there is little to choose between them.
